Job Description
The position involves the installation of fiber optic cable, working in bucket trucks and on poles, and other duties as assigned. Service Drop Technician’s core responsibility is to recognize, assess and control potentially hazardous situations in addition to maintaining the safety of the crew by giving direction regarding procedures, road safety and general oversight.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Placement of aerial and underground fiber optic cable to customer premise
Installation of new hardware
Installation of Customer Premises Equipment
Ability to work in all weather conditions, at heights and in confined spaces
Overnight travel required
Material management and job planning
REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or GED
Fiber optic splicing/termination is a plus
1-3 years outside plant/fiber optics experience
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Strong distribution operation, construction and maintenance knowledge
Proficient in climbing wood poles
Ethical Conduct
Work efficiently and safely

Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position
Safe responsible operation of company vehicle
